Inhibitors cracking

Neither isomerization initiators nor cracking inhibitors need to be present when isomerization occurs in the presence of these acidic catalysts. Disproportionation does not accompany the isomerization. 

Routine casting procedures for TNT work well with a TATB/TNT formulation, 1) of Table 4. The higher thermal conductivity of a TATB/TNT/A1 formulation, 2) , requires addnl side insulation of the molds and a crack inhibitor such as anthracene to produce intact charges free of fine cracks (Ref 28)... 

Use Insecticide, antioxidant, flex-cracking inhibitor, postharvest preservation of apples (scald inhibitor). 

Antiozonant Properties. Aromatic secondary diamines are the only class of organic chemicals able to reduce efficiently the ozone crack growth of vulcanizates under dynamic conditions and be acceptable at the same time from both the technical and toxicological points of view. The presence of a secondary aromatic amine moiety itself in a molecule is not a sufficient condition to attain antiozonants efficiency. (E.g., secondary monomaines are only antioxidants and flex-crack inhibitors without appreciable antiozonant activity. On the other hand, all N,N -disubstituted PD antiozonants are also efficient antoxidants and most of them also act as flex-crack inhibitors (1). Both these stabilization activities have to be considered in the complex antiozonant mechanism, together with some metal deactivating activity.

A number of systems investigated as possible carbon fiber sizes are given in Table 9.8. Dauksys [24] attempted to apply a size to form a microductile region adjacent to the interface, which could act as a stress relief medium, a crack inhibitor/arrestor and also attempt to increase the effective transfer length of the fractured fibers. Dauksys, at best, applied a 0.9 /w solution of polyhydroxyether in Cellusolve to Thornel 50 carbon fiber (with the PVA size removed) and from composites prepared from Union Carbide ERL2256 resin,... 

The antiozonants, N-(l,3-di-methylbutyl)-N -phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD) and the C7 and C5 alkyl-analogs were later introduced. In addition to their nse as antiozonants, p-phenylenediamines, primarily the more persistent mixed diaryl-derivatives, have replaced N-phenyl- 3-naphthylamine as antioxidants flex crack inhibitors and synthetic polymer antioxidant stabilizers. 

Multiple Functions. The N,N -disubstituted-p-phenylenediamines (PPDs) are unique stabilizers. Many of them simultaneously are potent antioxidants as well as antiozonants (especially the sec-alkyl-p-phenylenediamines). They are also good flex-crack inhibitors.
