Cover tape

Use Adhesives for textiles, paper, shoes, leather, tapes coatings for metal, paper, fabrics, carpets protective (strippable) for saturating paper, felt, book covers, tape, jute pads for dipping tire cords. Can be applied by spraying, spreading, impregnation, saturation. [Pg.471]

Two types of tapes are discussed carrierless adhesive foils (also called transfer adhesives) used, for example, in mounting or laminating processes, and tapes consisting of an adhesive on a carrier tape, used for contact and distance films in foil keypads, covering tapes in galvanizing and solder processes (Fig. 8), and as component supply in insertion installations (Fig. 9). The tape properties required depend, of course, on the type of application. Therefore, the following properties are important for component supply tapes [12] ... [Pg.868]

Tapes for component supply in loading installations usually consist of an acrylate- or rubber-based adhesive (also thermosetting) on a paper or polyester foil carrier (dependent on the mass of the components). Depending on the type of application, different materials are used for the adhesive and the carrier for covering tapes. Most important carrier materials are foils (PVC, polypropylene, cellulose, polyester, polyimide), papers, and woven and nonwoven fabrics (cotton, glass). Adhesives frequently used are based on rubbers, silicones, and acrylates. Carrier less adhesive foils are used, for example, for the bonding of copper foils and polyimide films to get special base materials for circuit boards. [Pg.869]

EXAMPLES OF FORMULATIONS Heat-sealable cover tape adhesive ... [Pg.202]

Bond on the surface of the filler or directly on the EC coat. This requires a cover tape applied before the coating of the paint The masking tape must be then removable without any residues on the surface even after several bake cycles. And in addition, the paint must stick on the tape and should not chip when removed. The masking is an additional process with additional costs. The EC coat provides the highest adhesion strength with values in the range of 15 MPa. [Pg.1195]

PEDOTrPSS coated (a) modul trays, (b) blister tapes, and (c) cover tapes. [Pg.268]

This term covers tapes for protecting surfaces during painting, sand blasting, etc. [Pg.209]
