Conversion disorder

Neuropsychiatric syndromes (conversion disorder, panic disorder)... 

In the literature, stroke mimicry - the misdiagnosis of stroke due to a non-vascular medical condition that simulates a stroke syndrome - refers to cases where the diagnosis of a stroke was made on the basis of a skilled examination but finally turned out to be wrong. Typical examples of stroke mimicry are metabolic and toxic disturbances, complicated migraine, Todd s paralysis, conversion disorders and brain tumors.

The psychiatric manifestations were studied in 50 patients with PDD poisoning in Wad Medani teaching hospital, 34 (70%) patients showed significant psychiatric manifestations, 24 of fhem showed depressive disorder while 11 showed conversion disorder. The patients who completed suicide and 62.1% who attempted suicide were from the depressive group (53)... 

The bulk stmcture of the catalyticaHy active phase is not completely known and is under debate in the Hterature (125,131—133). The central point of controversy is whether (Valone or in combination with other phases is the most catalyticaHy active for the conversion of butane to maleic anhydride. The heart of this issue concerns the role of stmctural disorder in the bulk and how it arises in the catalyst (125,134,135). Most researchers agree that the catalysts with the highest activity and selectivity ate composed mainly of (Vthat exhibits a clustered or distorted platelet morphology (125). It is also generaHy acknowledged that during operation of the catalyst, the bulk oxidation state of the vanadium in the catalyst remains very close to the +4 valence state (125). 

The crystallographic study of the potassium salt is complicated by disorder but in CsOs03N Os=N is 1.676 A and Os=0 1.739-1.741 A. Assignments of the vibrational spectrum of Os03N is assisted by isotopic substitution the higher frequency absorption is shifted significantly on 15N substitution whereas the band just below 900 cm-1 is scarcely affected (Table 1.7) conversely the latter band is shifted by some 50 cm-1 on replacing l60 by l80 [56], Nitrido salts are discussed later (section 1.12.2). 

Peter and Wang [266] invented a channel flow cell for rapid growth of CdTe films they showed that 2 p,m Aims can be deposited in less than 20 min, as opposed to the 2-3 h normally required in the conventional stirred single batch cells. The as-deposited films were structurally more disordered than the conventional ones, but after annealing and type conversion they became suitable for fabrication of efficient solar cells. A test cell with an AMI.5 efficiency approaching 6% was fabricated using a film prepared in the channel cell.
