Contract award

Key documents that are developed during the planning stages can be used to focus and direct the compliance strategy, to outline the health and safety program/plan requirements, and to establish work controls. These documents are usually developed after contract award and before mobilization. 

Contract review is but one of the tasks in the contract acquisition process. These are marketing, prospect acquisition, tendering, contract negotiation, contract award, and then contract review. However, in a sales situation, you may simply have a catalog of products and services and a sales office taking orders over the telephone or over the counter. The contract review element of this operation takes a few seconds while you determine if you can supply the item requested. In an organization that produces products to specific customer requirements you may in fact carry out all the tasks in the contract acquisition process. Rather than isolate the contract review task and produce a procedure for this, your business may benefit more from a procedure or series of procedures that covers the contract acquisition process as a whole. 

At the point a compound is recognized and then considered for potential pharmaceutic or therapeutic usefulness, researchers will be both consumers of and contributors to the data-information-knowledge cycle that characterizes science. Initially, in the synthesis and purification phase of drug development, information about the compound s chemistry and physical properties may be both sought and created. Whether or not the compound has been of interest to other researchers may be determined by searching public records of grant and contract awards and also by searching resources that cover preliminary and early research results. The patent status of the compound may need to be established.

After contract award, it is the Project Manager s responsibility to implement all contractual provisions and have a complete understanding of the contract in general and, in particular, of those clauses asserting Owner s rights of technical approvals and control of the purse strings for reimbursable charges.

Contract Award - Every contract award, whether competitive or negotiated, must be documented with a thorough justification memo analyzing the reason for the selection and comparing the relative merits of all contractors considered.

Contract award The sponsor has the right to select the successful proposal or not to award the contract. 

There should be an information system that keeps track of the value of contracts awarded, the value of total purchases from each supplier per year and the performance for each tender (e.g. speed of delivery and compliance with specifications). 

The bulk of the contracts awarded to CROs deal with one or more of the most labor-intensive portions of clinical research, namely, clinical monitoring of study sites, data entry, programming for data listings and summary tables, and writing clinical study reports.
