Configuration serial

In general, radioscopic X-ray inspection systems are used in the serial examination of industrial workpieces since they enable a flexible adjustment of the beam direction and of the inspection perspective as well as on-line viewing of the radioscopic image. In the past few years this economic and reliable method has become prevalent in weld inspection during the manufacturing process of pipes. The configuration of such radioscopic systems is schematically represented in fig. 1. [Pg.435]

Another analysis handled effectively by use of gc/ir/ms is essential oil characterization which is of interest to the foods, flavors, and fragrances industries (see Oils essential). Even very minor components in these complex mixtures can affect taste and aroma. Figure 4 shows the TRC and TIC for Russian corriander oil which is used extensively in seasonings and perfumes (15). The ir and ms are serially configured. Spectra can be obtained from even the very minor gc peaks representing nanogram quantities in the it flow cell. [Pg.403]

The most versatile data acquisition option is a stand alone data collection unit. At Glidden we use an Elexor Data Logger (S) for this purpose. It has its own microprocessor and BASIC Interpreter and communicates with the computer via the serial port. The unit can be configured with a wide variety of signal processing options. [Pg.12]

The chip micro reactor ([R 6]) was only one part of a complex serial-screening apparatus [20]. This automated system consists of an autosampler (CTC-HTS Pal system) which introduces the reactant solutions in the chip via capillaries. A pumping system (p-HPLC-CEC System) serves for fluid motion by hydro dynamic-driven flow. A dilution system [Jasco PU-15(5)] is used for slug dilution on-chip. The detection system was a Jasco UV-1575 and analysis was carried out by LC/MS (Agilent 1100 series capLC-Waters Micromass ZQ). All components were on-line and self-configured. [Pg.525]

The configuration can be expanded by adding other sample preparation instruments to facilitate automating other preparative steps that may intervene between SFE and the analytical instrument, e.g. solvent exchange, internal standard addition, serial dilutions for calibration curve generation, SPE for further cleanup of the extract output by SFE, derivatisation of components within the SFE extract, and many other (currently) manual-human intervention techniques. [Pg.445]

The connections within a "network" that consists of just one node can only link it with its environment, but as soon as the number of nodes in a network is increased, choices exist in the way that the nodes are connected. Two nodes could be arranged in parallel, so that both accept input data and both provide output (Figure 2.18). Alternatively, nodes could be placed in a serial configuration, so that the output of one node becomes the input of the second (Figure 2.19). [Pg.26]

Staggered parallel chromatography is an efficient and capable tool for linking multiple HPLC systems to a serial detection device, the mass spectrometer. The LC2MS version of the LCnMS approach has been in continuous use since 1998 in our laboratory and has supported hundreds of studies. The LCnMS scheme is now available from many commercial venders. However, for users who want to utilize existing equipment and not purchase additional equipment, it is beneficial to configure an ad hoc system from standard HPLC equipment as presented in this chapter. [Pg.140]

The fundamental decisions in the synthesis of a multistep process that involves individual reactor units connected in serial and parallel configurations as well as recycle pertain to how the units will be connected. In addition, however, we must consider (for a steady-state process)... [Pg.508]

Other techniques to improve throughput are instrumentation based and may involve multiple HPLC systems. The simplest method involves the automated use of solid phase extraction cartridges for sample cleanup followed by direct injection into the mass spectrometer [114], Coupling of multiple HPLC systems to one mass spectrometer allows one column to equilibrate and separate while another column to flow into the mass spectrometer. Multiple HPLC systems may be configured such that the mass spectrometer is only exposed to each serial HPLC eluent as the analyte of interest is eluted [115,116]. Although multiple H P LC-based methods may increase throughput, they also typically decrease sensitivity and may confound data workup and interpretation. [Pg.205]

The serial-out is realized as three serial lines that deliver a transmission word at intervals specified with register 4. A transmission word has a length of 20 bit and consists of two concatenated 10-bit words. Each transmission word is preceded by a start bit. The length of a bit is configurable with 5 bits of register 0. [Pg.97]

A typical scheme of a serial powertrain configuration including a range extender is shown in Figure 4.9. The range extender, that is, a fuel-based electric generator, can be connected directly to the motors and/or used to charge the accumulators continu-... [Pg.96]

Let a linear chain comprise N+ 1 beads which are indexed serially along the chain from 0 to N. The centers of adjoining beads are separated by a constant bond distance b. The vector drawn from bead / — 1 to bead i is designated bat, where is a unit vector. Thus, the configuration of a chain is specified by the set of V vectors [Pg.306]

PA, PB and vA. The corresponding minimum value of P results from a serial configuration of A and B, where both phases are fully discontinuous . Here, the aforesaid laminae are oriented normal to the direction of flow and must all be crossed by all flow lines. P is given by the well known formula... [Pg.115]
