Firstly, the question of box vs. point the end-element difficulty seen in the box method is not shared by the standard point method, and discretisation is always straightforward with points. Clearly, the point method with the concentration sample distribution 0, H, 2H,. .. is to be preferred. 

Beyond this, there is a wide choice, depending upon the user. The researcher who very occasionally needs to simulate, will not wish to go to the trouble of designing an OC solution to the problem, or even ICN or plain CN, for that matter. Method EX will probably be the most suitable, even if it uses a lot of computer time, since desk time may well be more expensive in such cases. 

In between these extremes lies Runge-Kutta integration which, for a modest extra programming effort, moving only a short distance from the simplicity of EX, provides an efficiency improvement of about 6 over EX and better than this for systems with chemical reactions. 

We have not touched upon the special problems arising from multi-dimensional systems and steady-state problems, which are dealt with separately in Chapt. 8.

Tbe length and rigor of these meetings will increase as the team conducts an analysis of underlying root causes using a structured method and reaches conclusions. Recommendations are then developed to address prevalent root causes. Ultimately, the team generates a written report.

A report of the results of the simulation must be generated. The written report will have the data, assumptions, deviations from the simulation plan with justifications, results, conclusions, recommendations, program scripts, simulation outputs, and supporting literature. Life cycle interpretation is the final phase of the EGA procedure, in which the results of an LCI or an LCIA, or both, are summarised and discussed as a basis for conclusions, recommendations and decision-making in accordance with the goal and scope definition. When LCA results are used to support decisions, they help consider potential trade-offs and prevent the shifting of burdens across different impact categories or stages in the product life cycle. 

This report should be in the standard design report format. It should include an abstract, results, discussion, conclusions, recommendations, and an appendix with calculations. The report format rules given in Chapter 27 (on this CD) should be followed.

NHTSA was not receptive to any of the recommendations or alternatives presented in the report. However, our evaluation of the detailed agency comments revealed that NHTSA did concur with some of our report conclusions, even though NHTSA generally disagreed with the findings that preceded those conclusions. A major objective was to identify the most efficient means of establishing a unique identifier for transgenic plants, and to draft conclusions, recommendations and points to consider within the context of OECD s Product Database. The purpose of the manual is to draw attention to problems involved in reporting physisorption data and to provide guidance on the evaluation and interpretation of isotherm data. The general conclusions and recommendations are very similar to those contained in Chapter 6. 

Analysis of Data. A veteran practitioner of chemical market research likened this step to the assembly of a jigsaw puzzle. There are many pieces of unequal size and importance that must be put together to make a picture understandable to everyone. Pantothenic acid is widely distributed in food and because of the lack of conclusive evidence regarding quantitative needs, a recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for pantothenic acid has not been estabUshed. Safety and efficacy data on a number of antitussives and expectorants have been reviewed by the FDA s Advisory Review Panel on Over-the-Counter (OTC) Cough, Cold, Allergy, Bronchodilator, and Antiasthmatic Products. The conclusions and recommendations regarding the effectiveness, safety, labeling, and suitability for marketing of over-the-counter preparations have been reported (103). After review of these recommendations, FDA has issued final monographs for over-the-counter antitussives (12) and for expectorants (1). LD q data for most of the compounds described have been reported (104,105). 

Fourth, communication is paramount, since successful analysis requires that those responsible for measurement, control, and operation are convinced that the conclusions drawn are technically correct and the recommended changes will enhance their performance. This is the most significant guideline in implementing the results of the analysis. 

If the UCKRON expression is simplified to the form recommended for reactions controlled by adsorption of reactant, and if the original true coefficients are used, it results in about a 40% error. If the coefficients are selected by a least squares approach the approximation improves significantly, and the numerical values lose their theoretical significance. In conclusion, formalities of classical kinetics are useful to retain the basic character of kinetics, but the best fitting coefficients have no theoretical significance. 

Although the information is important, especially for the manufacturer of phytophar-maceuticals, it should also interest the pharmacist and doctor which indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, dosages, manner of use, and effects are, as it were, officially recognized in some cases, where the evidence is insufficient, the Commission E came to the conclusion not to advocate therapeutic use - this, of course, in no way prohibits their use, but the pharmacist in his discussions with his clients will be hesitant in recommending or will inform them of the fact. Since the information regarding the constituents of the drugs in this book is mostly more detailed than in the monographs of the Commission F, as a rule this has been omitted here.
