When compression is applied on a polymer composite filled with conductive particles, the interparticle distance is reduced. This translates into an increase in conductivity as more electrons can flow through filler particles physically in contact and tunnel through the barriers, which under compression become thinner , and the probability that a decaying electron wave crosses over to the other end is higher. This property can be used for compression sensing. [Pg.312]

High polarization of nuclear spins through dynamic nuclear polarization in liquid state has enabled the direct monitoring of metabolites in vivo. The design and testing of the compressed sensing suited for a flyback 3D-MRSI sequence are presented. Phantom tests validated the accuracy of the compressed sensing approach and initial mouse experiments demonstrated in vivo feasibility. [Pg.429]

Lin and Opella describe the incorporation of non-uniform sampling (NUS) compressed sensing into oriented sample solid-state NMR for stationaiy aligned samples and MAS solid-state NMR for unoriented powder samples. Both simulated and experimental results indicate that 25-33% of a full linearly sampled data set is required to reconstruct two-and three-dimensional solid-state NMR spectra with high fidelity. A modest increase in signal-to-noise ratio accompanies the reconstruction." ... [Pg.333]
