Composition, coupling

Hydrogenation of anilines normally gives cyclohexylamines and varying amounts of the coupled products, dicyclohexylamines. The ratio of these products is influenced by temperature, catalytic metal, support, additives, and solvent. It is possible to exert substantial control over the product composition. Coupled products increase with increasing temperature (23). [Pg.125]

It is this large and continuous variability in bulk composition coupled with the fact that crystal structures may be different for the same anhydrous or hydrous bulk composition which makes zeolite identification so difficult (see Breck, 1970, for example and Deer, et al., Vol. 4, 1962). The factors determining which species of zeolite will crystallize are undoubtedly complex, involving such variables as the chemical activity of dissolved ionic species, crystal growth rate and ease of nucleation however, certain patterns of mineral paragensis can be discerned through a survey of the literature. [Pg.116]

In addition to preferential adsorption of epoxy components at fiber or adherend surfaces, chemically different species can be added to the interphase to improve or alter an interfacial property. Among the species, that can be added to the composite, coupling agents have a great effect on the interphase structure and properties. [Pg.15]

Although mechanical performance of composites can depend on the processing conditions, the batch-mixed and the twin-screw extraded nanocomposites developed in this study did not show any significant ddfeience. Also, we note that while the nanocomposites were generally less flexible as compared to the pure LLDPE, they still retained a fairly high elon tion-at-break of about 140%, compared to about only 30% displayed by short P-55 carbon fiber composites. Coupled with an EM SE of about 22-24 dB, PR-19 HT and MWNT HT nanocomposites indicate a potential in applications that require significant mechanical flexibility. [Pg.135]

The nonstoichiometric composition coupled with the microporosity and amorphous phase in the microstructure reduces the thermal stability of the fibers. Depending on the magnimde and duration of the applied stress, the use of the fibers may be limited to temperatures lower than 1000°C. To overcome this deficiency, recent efforts have been devoted to producing dense, polycrystalline, stoichiometric SiC through modification of the synthesis and processing conditions or through the synthesis of more useful preceramic polymers (63,67,68). [Pg.24]

This led to a laboratory search for faster molding compositions which were commercialized in 1972 and 1973. The original codes of Delrin 8010 and Delrin 8020 were subsequently changed to Delrin 900F and Delrin 500F. These compositions coupled with the latest molding technology resulted in cycle reductions up to 40%. [Pg.111]
