Composite reinforced line pipe

In addition to the FRP pipeline technology, TransCanada Pipelines Limited (TCPL) is developing the composite reinforced line pipe (CRLP ) under the license from NCF industries [4]. The CRLP consists of mainly a high-performance composite material and a... [Pg.362]

Composite reinforced line pipe (CRLP ). (After Zimmerman, T., Stephen, G., and Glover, A., Composite reinforced line pipe (CRLP ) for on shore gas pipelines, IPC2002, Paper No. 27125, Proceedings of IPC02, Calgary, October 2002.)... [Pg.364]

Another version of SSLP is the composite reinforced line pipe (CRLP), in which glass-reinforced composite (at the wet and uncured stage) is circumferentially wound around a steel pipe. The composite provides increased pressure capacity and environmental protection against corrosion. Depending upon the requirement, the ratio of steel and composite (in terms of their thicknesses) can be adjusted during manufacturing. [Pg.668]

This chapter outlined varions applications of FRP in relation to pipes and risers, and those relevant to the petrochemical and oil and gas industries. It introduced various hybrid applications of FRP and its hybrid, such as the steel strip laminate pipe (SSLP) technology and the composite reinforced line pipe (CRLP) technology, and sandwich pipes as well as their pertinent design procedures. The issues affecting the long-term performance of these materials, as well as the issues involved in joining them, were also discussed. [Pg.696]

Biofilm study was carried out in the drinking water supply system DWSS"Yovkovtsy , that supply with water the region of Veliko Tamovo, and in the laboratory model of water distribution system. Some experiments were performed 1) to determine microbiological composition of biofilm samples scraped from mild steel or reinforced concrete s main pipe line and concrete tank of DWSS Yovkovtsy 2) to study biofilm formation process on test pipe from PVC, PE, stainless steel and carbon steel in a laboratory model of drinking water distribution system under flow velocity 0,006 cm/s. 3) to study dynamics of biofilm formation process on polypropylene, the pipe material used during the last years in Bulgaria, in a model water distribution system under flow velocities 0.3 m/s, 0.5 m/s, 0.7 m/s and 1 m/s. [Pg.464]
