The macrocyclic thiaether-esters 84, 85, and 86 were prepared by the reaction of 2,2 -dithiobenzoic acid dichloride with corresponding diols in 31%, 80%, and 85% yields, respectively <2005PS1953>. The complexation abilities of these thiaether-esters toward Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ were measured by the solvent extraction experiments.
