Community administrative support

A new prison near my home would provide needed jobs and counteract the flow of people from our small town. A prison would require construction, security, administrative support, cafeteria workers, sanitation, and many other services. People in my community could fill these positions. Every person in my community who finds a local job will have a reason to stay here. 

A study in mice showed that orally dosed cefaclor was rapidly absorbed with an efficiency that approached 100% based on a comparison of urinary excretion after oral and parenteral dosage. Blood level curves following oral and parenteral administration supported this conclusion. In addition, cefaclor disappeared from the gastrointestinal tract and appeared in the urine at rates similar to those of cephalexin, a cephalosporin known to be well absorbed orally (W. E. Wright, private communication). 

As joint organizers of this workshop, the Commission of the European Communities and the US Environmental Protection Agency are very pleased to have been able to collaborate in this important initiative. The lines of communication that were established in the toller selection phase can be formalized in the contract stage. The contract should spell out the persons to contact and under which circumstances they must be contacted. Detailed and continuing exchange of information is necessary in order to optimize the administration and performance of the tolling contract. Henry Barton, who had worked in Kemble s molecular spectroscopy research group at Harvard, was an influential scientific administrator in the early 1930s. In 1931, he became director of the American Institute of Physics (AIP), the recently founded consortium of five American physics societies. William Buffum, an officer in the Chemical Foundation, was influential in providing considerable financial support for the chemical community and for the Journal of Physical Chemistry, edited by the maverick Cornell University chemist Wilder Bancroft. 103...

The Secretariat is the administrative office of The Cochrane Collaboration, and supports the work of the Steering Group and its sub-committees, manages the central finances of the organisation, and facilitates communication (www.cochrane.org/contact/ entities.htm secretariat). It is based in Oxford, England, and has four full-time members of staff the Chief Executive Officer, Secretariat Administrator, Deputy Administrator and Administrative Assistant.
