Collection stations

Water-soluble corrosion inhibitors are necessary to prevent corrosion of the pipe walls, joints, pumps, and collection stations. An ampholytic, substituted imidazoline has been described for inhibiting corrosion in such systems [297]. This type of corrosion inhibitor is intended for continuous treatment. 

The generic protocols developed for SDTF field studies with EPA input included the following recommendations for location of field collection stations ... 

Collection stations were located at various distances from the point of application up to 2600 ft in the aerial studies, 1300 ft in the ground application studies and 1000-1500 ft in the orchard studies. 

Each of the independent controllers is linked to a human-machine interface (HMI) network. Dedicated HMI operator stations are assigned to each area, with an appropriate number of redundant stations providing backup in case of maintenance or breakdown. A development station permits tooling changes between campaigns to be carried out at the same time as systemiza-tion is carried out on the individual areas. A redundant set of historical data collection stations ensures that all of the data are collected and stored for both regulatory...

In considering the correlation results, it is well to keep in mind the range of fractionation, as indicated by the values of the r89,95 ratio, shown by the samples in question. For the Small Boy event most of the gross samples from the collecting stations in the local fallout field yielded values of 189,95 in the range between 0.1 and 0.2. However, when cloud samples, sieve fraction samples, and samples from the peripheral stations are also considered, the range of the ratio runs from about 0.01 to about 7.0.

Combustible and non-combustible solid radioactive waste is often collected separately. Waste containing only short-lived radionuclides is usually stored until the activity has vanished. Solid waste containing long-lived radionuclides is collected in polyethylene bags, which are closed by welding, filled in dnuns and taken to a central collecting station for radioactive waste. 

Filter-Paper Tape. A technique that inherently conserves the sample uses a filter-paper roll. The sample would be deposited at a collecting station and then advanced to a measuring station. Ultimately, it wouM be wound onto a takeup reel and saved for further investigation. 

The following section documents 25 years service life of an epoxy pipe-fine used to transport crude oil from oil wells to a collection station. This work shows the predictability and the long term service life of the pipes under cyclic load.

Pipelines have special facilities. They include pumping stations, storage tanks, collection stations, and transfer stations. Most are above-ground facilities and part of the pipeline systems. Physical damage, corrosion, and component failures can lead to major disasters. Opening the wrong valve and not knowing what is in a system are common errors.

Vehicles must be accepted at collection stations without charge to the owner.
