Coils plate

As the coiled plate spirals outward, the plate thickness increases from a minimum of 2 mm to a maximum (as required by pressure) up to 10 mm. This means relatively thick material separates the two fluids compared to tubing of conventional exchangers. Pressure vessel code conformance is a common request. [Pg.1085]

In the first configuration (Figure 11.44), a Pd or Pd-alloy membrane is made of a spiral plate and forms two compartments on the opposite sides of the membrane with double spirals. The edges of the double spiral coiled plate are fixed to the walls of the reactor shell. The number of spirals can be as high as 200. [Pg.557]

In addition to the above cross-flow reactors of extended definition, the block of thin-walled spiral-tubular-membrane catalyst reactor and the double-spiral coiled-plate-membrane reactor may be included [30-33]. [Pg.579]

Table 2 gives a price scale with reference to carbon steel. The price of steel is very variable depending on country, process, shape, etc. Example of mean prices on the period 1997-2001 recorded by the inspection of several Internet sites are 250/350 /tonne for hot rolled sheets, 350/500 /tone for cold rolled sheets, 400 /tonne for coiled plates. A reasonable composite steel price for process industries purposes would be about 400 /tonne. [Pg.687]

Heat is applied to the solvent by means of immersion steam coils, plate coils, or steam jackets forming the bottom of the tank. Pressures required for various solvents are shown in Table 2. As the concentration of oil in the solvent increases, the boiling temperature increases thus, the steam pressure required increases. Therefore, as the contamination level of the solvent increases, it is necessary to increase the steam pressure to achieve the same distillation rate. [Pg.20]
