Cognitive skills animals

Ape mentality why not more . ..But we are still confronted with a paradox if cognitive abilities are so useful in social and other spheres, as we like to imagine they are, why aren t these demonstrations much, much more common and obvious in these animals which apparently can show the cognitive skills occasionally ... 

This does, however, raise a number of interesting questions about the way in which social skills relate to neocortex volume. There are, for example, at least three reasons why we might find a relationship between group size and neocortex size (assuming that the latter actually does measure computing power). One is that the animal has to remember all the other individuals with whom it interacts a second is that it has to be able to manipulate the information relating to these individuals in a complex cognitive hyperspace a third is that it has more to do with how the individual relates to a smaller subset of special allies. 

Industrial workers often complain of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, sweating, and a metallic taste in the mouth. Depending on the metals in question, there may be blue-black lines in the gum tissues and impairment of cognitive, motor, and language skills. The expression mad as a hatter comes from the mercury poisoning prevalent in seventeenth century France among hat makers, who soaked animal hides in a solution of mercuric nitrate to soften the hair. 

During the past 15 years, research findings have indicated that boron is required or beneficial in higher animals and humans for many life processes including embryogene-sis, bone growth and maintenance, immune function, psychomotor skills, and cognitive function (Nielsen 2000, 2001).
