Coating systems cold-curing coatings

These are two-pack cold-cure coatings and can be a blend of acrylic and epoxy resins for use with ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastics. Designed to be applied by spraying to suitably pre-treated surfaces they are available as an isocyanate-free alternative to two-pack polyurethane systems. [Pg.231]

The hot dip process is used to coat wire baskets, brackets etc., and depends on preheating the object to be coated (100-120 °C) and dipping it into the plastisol where the PVC gels around the object. Cold dip and spray coating is used on fabrics, such as lined gloves, or metal, such as underbody sealant. These are subsequently gelled in an oven. The use of an infrared system to cure PVC sealant compound has also been introduced (343). [Pg.33]

UV-curable concrete floor coatings provide a durable, high-performance, and eco-friendly solution. These thin-film coating systems cure instantly, thereby minimizing the downtime of any facility. Other benefits of these coatings include excellent chemical resistance, little odor, the ability to coat in cold conditions, and ease of cleanup [33],... [Pg.166]

When polymerization is used as the hardening principle, reactive components combine to form the binder, e.g., unsaturated polyesters with styrene or acrylate monomers. Here, one component often behaves as a reactive solvent for the other, and low-emission coating systems are the result. Cross-linking can be carried out at room temperature (cold curing) or by radiation curing. [Pg.9]
