Cobalt Accelerators

The curing of UPR initiated with MEK peroxide and Co octoate as the promoter was studied by DSC [168]. The kinetic analysis of an asymmetrical DSC peak was performed. It was assumed that the asymmetrical shape of the DSC curves resulted from two independent reactions. When two independent reactions were considered, the fit of the experimental data was better. [Pg.64]

The resins are commonly cured by the use of peroxide with or without cobalt accelerators, depending on whether the hardening is to be carried out at room temperature or at some elevated temperature. Electron irradiation curing, which can be completed within a few seconds, has, however, been introduced for coatings on large flat surfaces such as plywood, chipboard and metal panels. [Pg.742]

Reduced cobalt accelerates the reduction of acetylene to ethane by hydrogen above 180° an. <3. some liquid paraffins result at the same time. Evidently these three metals bring about different resnlts under similar conditions. [Pg.92]

During electron transfer reactions, the coordination spheres of the metal ions remain intact. By contrast, ligand transfer reactions proceed via a bridged activated complex in which the two metal ions are connected by a common bridging ligand. In the examples above, replacement by chloride of only one of the six ammonia ligands bound to cobalt accelerates the rate by a factor of over 109. [Pg.283]

Furthermore, the purity of tungsten has an influence on le carburization. Certain impurities, such as cobalt, accelerate the carburization, and others, like the alkali metals, retard it [3.73]. [Pg.115]

For example, dimethylaniUne has no accelerating effect on methylethylketone peroxide, but it can have a significant influence on the system MEK peroxide/cobalt accelerator, whose effect is frequently made use of for processing purposes. [Pg.110]
