Coal clearance systems

The coal clearance system at two closely situated mines in the UK was rationalised so that the output of both mines would come to the surface at one mine only. As part of this process the coal clearance operations in one control room were closed down and a number of the operators transferred to woik in the new combined control room. There were, as expected, a number of teething troubles immediately after the change-over. But within these troubles there were a number of random belt stoppages which had not been expected and which were initially unexplained especially as the computer system used by the control room staff at both mines was essentially the same. [Pg.23]

Various studies have examined the incidence of gastric cancer with coal dust exposure because various carcinogenic substances have been identified in coal and because coal dust may reach the gastrointestinal tract through the pulmonary clearance system. Although... [Pg.177]

Monitoring system requires for real-time monitoring on the mechanism of dynamic system, and processors are applied to collect data for analysis, judgment. When the clearance of brake-shoe exceeds the specified value or the symmetrical clearance of brake-shoe exceeds threshold value or hydraulic pump station works abnormal, various kinds of fault conditions can trigger alarm or forecasting warning. This has the following functions to the coal mine production work ... [Pg.89]
