Cisplatin-derivatives polymers

Malik, Duncan, Tomalia, and Esfand [29] reported the use of a variety of amine and acid-containing polymers that chelated platinum forming cisplatin derivatives. They also reported the synthesis of similar dendritic-antineoplastic drugs using vanadocene dichloride. The structure from the poly(propyleneimine) dendrimers contains units are shown in (5) and (6). [Pg.229]

The B block may consist of a water-soluble polymer, for example, poly(aspartic acid) P(Asp), that is rendered hydrophobic by the chemical conjugation of a hydrophobic drug (Yokoyama et al., 1992, 1993, 1996 Nakanishi et al., 2001), or is formed through the association of two oppositely changed polyions (polyion complex micelles) (Hatada etal., 1995,1998 Kataoka etal., 1996). Drugs used to couple the B block include cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, cisplatin, pyrene, and iodine derivative of benzoic acid (Kwon and Kataoka, 1995 Trubetskoy et al., 1997 Yu etal., 1998). [Pg.310]

Recently, we looked at the ability of methotrexate, tetrachloroplatinate, a physical mixture of methotrexate and tetrachloroplatinate and a methotrexate-platinum polymers to inhibit various viruses. A related study employing tilorone and a tilor-one derivative and cisplatin polymeric derivatives was carried out. The results will be briefly reported later. For these studies each ceU line is especially chosen to be compatible to support growth for the particular virus. DSC-1 cells are African green monkey kidney epithehal cells, mouse L929 are fibroblast cells, vero cells are African green monkey kidney epithelial cells, and human 143 cells are fibroblast bone osteosarcoma cells. [Pg.215]
