NIDA Researeh Monographs are indexed in the Index Medicus. They are selectively ineluded in the coverage of American Statistics Index, Biosciences Information Service, Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents, Psychological Abstracts, and Psychopharmacology Abstracts.

If you are using the book for self-directed study, you should subscribe or have access to the doubled-asterisked periodicals and read the single-asterisked periodicals, become acquainted with the contents of the references with asterisks, locate a library with national and international references, and obtain a copy of the Statistical Abstract of the United States (Sections 0.1.1 and 0.1.2).

It was originally formed as a joint venture among BRS, Predicasts, and Radio Suisse (the Swiss telecommunications company) (37). Data-Star offers access to about 300 bibliographic, abstract, directory, and fuU-text on-line databases, of which approximately 150 are also available on Dialog (40).
