Certificate of correction

The Certificate of Correction. Another mechanism for correcting the patent is the "Certificate of Correction," which is essentially a petition filed by the patentee to correct minor errors in the patent produced either by the U.S. PTO or inadvertentiy by the appHcant. Unlike the Notice of Errors, a Certificate of Correction does result in an additional pubHcation from the U.S. PTO, and anyone requesting a copy of a patent in which a Certificate of Correction has been filed will also obtain the Certificate of Correction. A Certificate of Correction reflects amendments made during the examination of the patent which were entered by the examiner but not found within the issued patent. The omission of such amendments can be in the body of the patent or in the patent claims. The Certificate of Correction may also be used to correct errors in the issued patent which were not present in the patent appHcation when it was filed. If the error was caused by the patent appHcant prior to or during examination, the patent appHcant bears the cost of filing and... [Pg.36]

See MPEP sections 1480-1485 for a description of the processes involved in the issuance of a certificate of correction. As a practical matter, you may have encountered certificates of correction in your normal patent experience. The corrections made to patent specifications are not made in the patent specifications per se but rather are included as auxiliary sheets placed at the end of the issued patent and provide instructions to the amendments that have been entered into the record. The patent as corrected will have the same legal effect as if the patent had been correctly issued in the first place (35 U.S.C. 254). [Pg.47]

Issued patents are often found to contain errors of varying degrees. Minor errors (e.g., clerical or typographical errors and erroneous inclusion or exclusion of an inventor), if made without deceptive intent, can usually be corrected through a Certificate of Correction issued by the PTO at the request of the inventor or assignee (150). Generally, a mistake is not minor if its correction would materially affect the scope or meaning of the patent claims. [Pg.738]

Knowingiy faisifying written certification of correction as required by the out-of-service order. 2,100 up to 16,000 each time the vehicle is so operated. [Pg.245]

Since the CRSs and BRPs are officially certified by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, which adopts the reports establishing their suitability for the intended use, it should be noted that neither certificates of analysis nor data which are not relevant to the use of the substances as defined by the Ph. Eur. monograph, are provided with the reference products or substances. Information required for the correct use of the chemical reference substance or biological reference preparation is provided. The label on the vials or ampoules gives ... [Pg.191]

Such errors include mis-reading certificate or report data supplied by the producers, using secondary information from catalogs and/or literature listings, and reporting incorrect data. For the correct use of a RM/CRM, it is essential to read the information that accompanies the product once an appropriate RM/CRM has been obtained. The only reliable source of information is the Certificate of Analysis or Report of Assigned Values issued with the RM/CRM, and it must be the most up to date version available. Failure to follow a producer s recommendation will invariably result in error. [Pg.238]

Very special quality demands and quality systems are those for the production and certification of kosher and halal products, which at the time are gaining in importance all over the world. Kashrut is the body of Jewish law dealing with what foods Jews can and cannot eat and how those foods must be prepared. Kashrut originates from the ffebrew and means fit , proper or correct . The more commonly known word kosher comes from the same roots and refers to foodstuffs that meet these dietary requirements of Jewish law. Halal is an... [Pg.304]

As the inspection progresses, the inspector completes a questionnaire which covers all the points relevant to the certification of the operation. At the completion of the inspection, the operator is required to sign the questionnaire, confirming that to the best of their knowledge, all the information contained therein is accurate and correct. [Pg.56]

The certificate should contain all information needed by users of the CRMs. The amount of detail included in a certificate depends on the nature of the material and the availability of a certification report. When a report is not supplied with a certificate, the amount of detail in the certificate should be large enough to allow the user make the right decision about whether the intended application of the CRM is correct. As an example, a full description of the adopted preparation and certification approach is included in the certificate of the CRMs for chemical... [Pg.60]

Preparation and certification of RMs is a complicated, multistage, and time-consuming task. Attention to detail at all stages of this task is obligatory because one failure at any stage could shatter previous achievements and make the candidate CRM useless. Correct cooperation of many experienced analysts and constant supervision by the coordinator from the beginning to the end of the whole campaign is necessary for final success. [Pg.61]

CONTRACT PRODUCTION AND ANALYSIS Principle. Contract production and analysis must be correctly defined, agreed, and controlled in order to avoid misunderstandings that could result in a product or work or analysis of unsatisfactory quality. There must be a written contract between the contract giver and the contract accepter which dearly establishes the duties of each party. The contract must dearly state the way in which the authorized person, in releasing each batch of product for sale or issuing the certificate of analysis, exercises his or her full responsibility. [Pg.23]

Possession of a Certificate of Analysis does not absolve the purchaser from ultimate responsibility for the correctness of the material to which it refers. [Pg.694]

Fibers and base resins are supplied against certificates of conformance and often property test certificates. On-line control during the manufacture of prepreg revolves around the correct ratio of fiber to resin. This is done by a traversing Beta-gauge, which scans the dry fiber (either unidirectional of fabric) and then the impregnated fiber and provides a continuous real-time plot of the ratio across the width of the material. This can be linked back to the resin system application point for continuous adjustment. [Pg.208]
