Projections, centric

This might seem of scant use in protein crystallography, since we have no centric space groups. Crystals of biological macromolecules, as previously pointed out, cannot possess inversion symmetry. Sets of centric reflections frequently do occur in the diffraction patterns of macromolecular crystals, however, because certain projections of most unit cells contain a center of symmetry. The correlate of a centric projection, or centric plane in real space, is a plane of centric reflections in reciprocal space. A simple example is a monoclinic unit cell of space group P2. The two asymmetric units have the same hand, as they are related by pure rotation, and for every atom in one at xj, yj, Zj there is an equivalent atom in the other at —Xj, yj, —zj. If we project the contents of the unit cell on to a plane perpendicular to the y axis, namely the xz plane, by setting y = 0 for all atoms, however, then in that... 

It is true there are still more configurations possible such as the centric formula and three Ladenburg prism formulae projected on to a plane, but it can be shown that these can be regarded as superpositions of the five configurations mentioned above. 

However, biological and medical research, and the healthcare industry, are not just about money, and certainly not just about profit. The healthcare industry has evolved because of a huge, common, collective effort, just like the human genome project. Fundamentally the healthcare industry developed with a humanitarian objective. Folk medicine, alternative medicine, and other nonmainstream disciplines typically disavow the profiteering, or at least money-pinching, aspects of national medicine, yet their patient-centric, personalized, and holistic philosophies will have an enhanced role to play in the new medicine.

These three project element types are grouped into breakdown structures— outcome centric product breakdown structure (PBS), teams grouped into a project s organization breakdown strucmre (OBS), and the phase based groups which often form the topmost level of a work breakdown strucmre (WBS). Product, phases, and teams are three points of view from which the sociotechnical models are seen and evolve (Fig. 8.1). 

Often in industrial use of traditional scheduling the detailed WBS describes a mix of these concepts some parts of the WBS in a master schedule are product centric while other parts are phase or team (functional) centric. In those cases the mapping of scheduled activities to the product, governing process, or project team organization can be unclear. 

The graphical user interface must allow role-centric subsets according to specialized user profiles, like CAD engineer, PLM data manager, controller, project manager.
