In Vivo Absorption Studies IVIale Wister albino rats, 270 - 310 g, were fasted for 2k h prior to drug administration. Ketoprofen powder or its physical mixture with methyl-3-CD (molar ratio l l) was freshly suspended in distilled water and administrated- into the stomach of a rat through a sonde at a dose of 25 mg/kg (ketoprofen) in a constant volume of 5 ml/kg. Blood samples were obtained from the femoral artery via a cannula and immediately centrifuged at 3000 rpm to obtain plasma samples. The concentration of ketoprofen in plasma was determined... [Pg.525]

Figure 7 shows the dissolution profiles of ketoprofen from ketoprofen powder and physical mixture with methyl-3-CD (molar ratio l l). A High dissolution rate of ketoprofen was observed in the presence of methyl-3-CD. The enhanced dissolution rate may be due to the increase in solubility in the presence of methyl-3-CD as expected from the phase solubility curve. Furthermore, it was found that the... [Pg.530]

The fact that at higher CD molar ratios the differences between the effects of the different tensides becomes rather small suggests that the bulky hydrophobic part of tensides (identical in each tenside) is responsible for the complex formation and the length of the hydrophilic ethyleneoxide chain (different in each tenside) has a negligible effect on the complex formation. [Pg.334]

The compounds AlYX are best prepared by direct reaction between the respective aluminum halide and chalcogenide in a sealed ampoule at 350°C. The reaction is complete after 2 weeks. In the case of the iodides, a mixture of A1 and I2 (molar ratio 3 10) is used instead of AII3. Other preparative methods, such as the reaction of an aluminum halide with Zn or Cd chalcogenide, or with the chalcogen itself, are applicable to the bromide and chloride only, and give poor yields (15-20%) (158, 159, 266, 327, 328). [Pg.383]

CD spectra were recorded first for mixtures of aPNA C5(b2)-i-DNA dJTAjGsAjT) and CCTCC(b2) 4-d(A3GGAGGA3) at different molar ratios (Fig. 5.6A). A plot of the CD intensity at 258 nm with respect to the mole percentage of aPNA showed two lines of opposite but unequal slope that intersect at a 1 1 molar ratio of the aPNA and DNA strands. We also noted that the complex formed between T5(b2)-... [Pg.213]

CdS and CdS-ZnS core-shell nanoparticles were synthesized by inverse micelle method. Crystallinity of CdS nanoparticles was hexagonal structure under the same molar ratio of CM and S precursor. However it was changed easily to cubic structure under the condition of sonication or higher concentration of Cd than S precursor. The interfacial state betwran CdS core and shell material was unchanged by different surface treatment. [Pg.760]

Next, with a PEG sample having as an average molecular weight of 600, the yields of complexes with a-CD were measured as a function of the amount of PEG in the solution, and the results presented in Fig. 4 were obtained. It is seen that the yield initially increases linearly with the polymer amount and begins to level off at a molar ratio of about 2 1 (ethylene glycol a-CD). The saturation corresponds to the consumption of a-CD of more than 90%. Fig. 5 delineates the data obtained by varying the amount of a-CD and keeping that of PEG fixed. It also proves that the complex formation obeys the 2 1 stoichiometric ratio. Further support to this fact can be seen from the NMR spectra shown in... [Pg.147]

The mixing of nematogenic compounds with chiral solutes has been shown to lead to cholesteric phases without any chemical interactions.147 Milhaud and Michels describe the interactions of multilamellar vesicles formed from dilauryl-phosphotidylcholine (DLPC) with chiral polyene antibiotics amphotericin B (amB) and nystatin (Ny).148 Even at low concentrations of antibiotic (molar ratio of DLPC to antibiotic >130) twisted ribbons are seen to form just as the CD signals start to strengthen. The results support the concept that chiral solutes can induce chiral order in these lyotropic liquid crystalline systems and are consistent with the observations for thermotropic liquid crystal systems. Clearly the lipid membrane can be chirally influenced by the addition of appropriate solutes. [Pg.331]

The average radius is deduced. Figure 3.4.2 shows a change in the size of the particle with the molar ratio of cadmium and sulfide ions concentrations. The largest size particles are obtained for [Cd2+]/[S2-] = 1 and the smallest for [Cd2+]/[S2 ] = 2. It can be noticed that the size of CdS is always smaller when one of the two reactants are in excess ([Cd2+]/[S2 ] = 3,5, 2). This confirms that the crystallisation process is faster when one of the reacting species is in excess (56). [Pg.222]
