Candida albicans ATCC

Standard and the isolated strains of the following bacteria, namely Escherichia coli (ATCC 35218), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 10145), Proteus mirabilis (ATCC 7002), Klebsiella pneumoniae (RSKK 574), Acinetobacter baumannii (RSKK 02026), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923), and Enterococcus faecalis (ATCC 29212) for determination of antibacterial activity, along with standard strains of Candida albicans (ATCC 10231) and C. parapsilosis (ATCC 22019) were used for determination of antifungal activity. [Pg.99]

Candida albicans ATCC 10231. The initial concentration of Candida albicans yeast was 6.8x10s cfij/ml. After contact for either 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or one day with the silver composition, there were no colonies detected. [Pg.14]

Antimicrobial activity on Candida albicans ATCC 90028 has been reported for amphiphilic -CyD nanospheres loaded with bifonazole and clotrimazole [56]. When drug-loaded amphiphiUc fi-CyD nanospheres are incubated with C. albicans, a synergistic effect is observed. Indeed, MIC (Minimal Inhibitory Concen-... [Pg.444]

All the fungi which were tested, i.e., Candida albicans (ATCC 140503 ), Candida tropicalis (ATCC 13803 ) and Candida krusei (ATCC 34135 ) successfully showed consistent ZOI in the presence of PANI- and PANI-doped with fluconazole. As the concentration of PANI- and PANI-doped with fluconazole increased, the susceptibility also increased for all fungi. The results elucidated the inhibitory concentration of PANI and PANI-doped with fluconazole on Candida tropicalis (ATCC 13803 ). There were no ZOI of PANI in dimethylsulfoxide which acts as a control. The ZOI were 7 mm for a concentration of 1.25 mg/ml, 8 mm for a concentration of 2.5 mg/ml, 9 mm for a concentration of 5.0 mg/ml and 11 mm for a concentration of 10 mg/ml. From this we can assume that the MIC of PANI for Candida tropicalis (ATCC 13803 ) is 1.25 mg/ml. The ZOI were 9 mm for a concentration of 1.25 mg/ml, 10 mm for a concentration of 2.5 mg/ml, 11 mm for a concentration of 5.0 mg/ml and 13 mm for concentration of 10 mg/ml. From this we can assume that the MIC of PANI-doped fluconazole for Candida tropicalis (ATCC 13803 ) is also 1.25 mg/ml [47]. [Pg.269]
