Buildings areas

This is particularly true of items such as filter boxes and small capacity exhaust fans. If there is an organized record of past occupant complaints about the building environment, review those complaints to identify building areas that deserve particular attention. [Pg.202]

A better understanding of potential lAQ problems is needed in order to develop a plan for corrective action It may be necessary to collect more detailed information and/or to expand the scope of the investigation to include building areas that were previously overlooked. Outside assistance may be needed. [Pg.214]

Building areas separated by physical walls (e.g., halls, rooms, booths) located on the same level. The wall has either intentional apertures or leaks (Fig. 7.107c2). [Pg.591]

Building areas separated by physical walls located on different levels (floors). Air movement between these zones may occur (e.g., through stairways or ducts) (Fig. 7.107/ ). [Pg.591]

Building areas within the same room (with no physical partitions) having different requirements for air cleanliness ( clean and dirty areas) located on the same level (Fig. 7.107d). [Pg.591]

Meeting building or fire code requirements for building area limitations, separation of occupancies/hazards, travel distance considerations, or other provisions... [Pg.313]

Exposure to residual chloroprene monomer in polychloroprene latex and polymer has also been described. In 1977, mean airbome concentrations of chloroprene of up to 0.2 ppm [0.72 mg/m3] were reported in a roll building area at a metal fabricating plant in the United States where polychloroprene was applied extensively to metal cylinders before vulcanization (Infante, 1977). Workers in a Russian shoe factory were reportedly often exposed to chloroprene concentrations of 20-25 mg/m (Buyanov Svishchcv, 1973). [Pg.230]

Tj. = 2 of average building areas normal to the wind/total urban area. [Pg.289]

Finally, the humid, tropical Johnston Island climate corroded parts of the JACADS building and equipment. For example, exterior steel support beams, pipes, and pipe supports rusted and required frequent repainting, and some pipe supports had to be replaced. Also, corrosion caused significant deterioration of exterior valves, instrumentation, and electrical function boxes. Army officials stated that, because they had underestimated how corrosive the environment would be on Johnston Island, they had not initially used appropriate corrosion protection materials. To correct the corrosion problems, the Army now uses corrosion-resistant paints and fiberglass equipment covers. Also, the Army hired additional maintenance personnel to perform preventive maintenance work on the building areas and equipment most susceptible to corrosion. [Pg.47]

Building area fire separations primarily consist of fire resistive rated walls and in some cases floors, ceilings and roofs. In a single story chemical warehouse, the prevalent component used as a fire separation is a wall with a fire resistance rating and suitably protected openings. Although fire separations are categorized or classified differently by a variety of entities, there are two basic types of fire separations fire walls and fire-rated barriers/partitions. [Pg.89]

Raw well water from a 100,000-gallon raw water storage tank is pumped by the pair of feed pumps visible in the lower right-hand corner of the building area... [Pg.167]

The building area must not amount to more than 60% of the ground area specified for the project. [Pg.366]

There are barriers and ventilation systems (Fig. 1) for the prevention of incorporation and the spread of contamination inside the building and into the environment. The facility is divided into two main building areas a process building for handling of Pu and an auxiliary building for inactive auxiliary functions (e.g., ventilation, electrical systems, automatic control systems). [Pg.58]

AM processes show a comparable accuracy mainly for the contour, which means in the build area and thus two dimensionally. Because of the layer principle with even layer thicknesses making the third dimension causes stair stepping effects which means additional inaccuracy. [Pg.1034]

A written record by which an individual in charge of a unit, equipment, or building area authorizes a worker or work crew to do a specific job at that work site. It identifies what precautions (safe work practices) are to be taken to ensure that the working conditions are safe for the type of work to be performed in a specifie job loeation... [Pg.300]

Monopolar cells require shorting switches (Section 8.4.3.1) so that individual cells can be removed and then replaced without shutting down their circuit. In very small plants, there is an argument for designing a plant without switching facilities. This saves not only the cost of the switch, but also of the building area required for maintenance... [Pg.710]

A fire extinguisher, rated not less than 2A, must be provided for each 3,000 square feet of building area (a 55-gallon open drum or a y2-inch water hose may be substituted for this extinguisher [see 1926.150 (c)(1) for details]). [Pg.347]

Rectangle shape is now usually adopted in foundation pits as well as some TBM work shafts or subway station, in order to meet the constraint of the building area or the special construction requirement. [Pg.368]

Special attention should be paid to prevent the fouling of air channels during their mounting. Air channel components must be supplied clean and closed on both ends. Partly mounted air ducts again must be shut at the open end to keep them clean inside. The building area should be swept clean daily. [Pg.607]
