The time schedule of HTR-10 construction is shown in Table3. The reactor building construction v ill be lasted two and half year and scheduled to complete in the end of 1997. Wood is one of the oldest constructional materials. Historically it was important in world exploration and trade, and the defence of that trade, in the provision of merchant ships and navies. It was also important in the early days of railway engineering and in building construction. Although in many applications wood has been replaced by other materials, this renewable resource now supports the growing industries of manufactured wood products. Prominent amongst these are the panel materials chipboard, flake-board, strandboard, plywood and blockboard, hardboard and softboard, wood-cement products and the products of the very large pulp and paper industries. 

Segregation is practised to allow for housekeeping, construction and maintenance requirements and to reduce the risk of an accident resulting in a domino effect , e.g. from a fire, explosion or toxic release. For very toxic substances, e.g. prussic acid (HCN) or tetraethyl lead, this may involve isolating the entire manufacturing operation in a separate unoccupied building or sealed-off area. 

In the manufacture of high explosives, the possibility of accidental detonation must always be borne in mind and buildings are constructed and arranged so as to minimise the possible effects of such an explosion. The buildings are placed sufficiently far apart so that an explosion in one building will not cause sympathetic detonation in the other. Practical distances do not make it completely impossible for detonation in one house to leave all other houses unaffected, for two reasons ...
