Use with alcohol, CNS depressants, antihistamines, opiate analgesics, and other BZDs increases CNS depression. Quazepam is a pregnancy-risk category X drug, and breast-feeding whiie taking it is not recommended. 

The mother of a 7-week-old premature girl became depressed and was given nefazodone 300 mg/day. Two weeks later the infant became drowsy and lethargic and did not feed well. No medical condition was found to account for these symptoms and breast-feeding was stopped. The symptoms improved over the next 3 days. The concentrations of nefazodone in breast milk were about 10 times less than those in maternal plasma, and the total infant dose of nefazodone was calculated to be only 0.45% of the maternal dose. 

Age The popularity of codeine in pediatric anesthesia has been questioned [67 ]. Codeine is associated with a number of adverse events—constipation, nausea and vomiting, euphoria, itching, dry mouth, drowsiness, meiosis, urinary retention, hypotension, and respiratory depression. Intravenous codeine can cause profound hypotension and tonic-clonic seizures. It should be avoided in breast feeding. Using codeine concomitantly with other drugs, such as antitussives, can result in serious harm. Despite such evidence, codeine remains a popular choice.
