Ergotamine is an ergot derivative indicated for the treatment of migraine. Amitriptyline and propranolol can be used for the prophylaxis of migraine. 

Dopamine receptor agonists. Deficient dopaminergic transmission in the striatum can be compensated by ergot derivatives (bromocriptine p. 114], lisu-ride, cabergoline, and pergolide) and nonergot compounds (ropinirole, prami-pexole). These agonists stimulate dopamine receptors (D2, D3, and D sub-types), have lower clinical efficacy than levodopa, and share its main adverse effects. 

Hypersensitivity to any component of the product. Coadministration of nelfinavir is contraindicated with drugs that are highly dependent on CYP3A for clearance and for which elevated plasma concentrations are associated with serious and/or life-threatening events (eg, amiodarone, quinidine, ergot derivatives, pimozide, midazolam, triazolam, lovastatin, simvastatin see Drug Interactions). 

Drugs that may be affected by atazanavir include the following antiarrhythmics, atenolol, benzodiazepines, calcium channel blockers, cisapride, clarithromycin, ergot derivatives, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, immunosuppressants, indinavir, irinotecan, itraconazole, ketoconazole, oral contraceptives, PDE5 inhibitors, pimozide, rifabutin, saquinavir, tenofovir, tricyclic antidepressants, voriconazole, warfarin. 

Drugs that might be affected by lopinavir/ritonavir include ergot derivatives, oral contraceptives, antiarrhythmics, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, HIV protease inhibitors, atovaquone, calcium channel blockers, ketoconazole, itraconazole, pimozide, cisapride, clarithromycin, disulfiram, metronidazole, immunosuppressants, midazolam, triazolam, narcotic analgesics, rifabutin and rifabutin metabolite, sildenafil, warfarin, bupropion, clozapine, desipramine, piroxicam, quinidine, theophylline, and zolpidem. 

Drugs that may be affected by delavirdine include the following Clarithromycin, indinavir, amprenavir, benzodiazepines, cisapride, dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, ergot derivatives, quinidine, sildenafil, warfarin, saquinavir, and didanosine. 

Do not administer concurrently with cisapride, midazolam, triazolam, or ergot derivatives. Competition for CYP3A4 by efavirenz could result in inhibition of metabolism of these drugs and create the potential for serious or life-threatening adverse events (eg, cardiac arrhythmias, prolonged sedation, respiratory depression see Drug Interactions).
