Recent interest in the use of N-unsubstituted 2-quinolones stems from the fact, that they coordinate effectively to chiral lactam-based templates via two hydrogen bonds. A room-temperature solvent, hexafluoroacetone sesquihydrate, when used at full strength, is a very effective bonding agent for bonding acetal copolymer to itself, to nylon, and to ABS.
