Boarding pass

Cliff S. Hamilton, Editor-in-Chief of Volume 29 of Organic Syntheses, who joined the Board of Editors in 1942 and was a long-time member of the Advisory Board, passed away on April 7, 1975 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 85. [Pg.154]

Detection of trace explosive residues on boarding passes... [Pg.50]

A system for the detection of trace explosive residues on aircraft boarding passes has been developed [10]. This approach is based on the assumption that passengers involved with explosives are likely to become contaminated with detectable amounts of trace explosives. These residues are transferred by touch to the boarding pass and are detected by the system before the passenger boards the aircraft. [Pg.50]

Limits of detection were less than 100 pg for TNT, NG, PETN, and RDX. The system could handle 1000 boarding passes per hour. [Pg.50]

A background study into the levels of explosive residues on used boarding passes was conducted by analyzing over 20 000 boarding passes from a number of airports in UK, USA, and Canada. Traces of explosives were detected on approximately 0.5% of passes analyzed. NG contributed to the majority of the positive signals observed, probably because of its use as a medication. [Pg.50]

The first quarter of 1986 was not a good period for the biotechnology industry. On February 11th, the Monterey County (California) Board passed a moratorium on the release of genetically engineered organisms within that local jurisdiction. Monterey County was the site chosen by AGS to field test ice minus. [Pg.386]

For the hollow GeoDeck board (see above) at a span of 16 in. with the allowed deflection of 0.089", the calculated deflection would be equal to 0.093". Close, but not enough. To pass with these numbers for flex modulus (374,000 psi) and moment of inertia (0.733 in. ), a span should be of 15-3/4". In reality, the hollow GeoDeck Traditional board passed the requirement for 16-in. span for stair tread (L/180) at 301 lb concentrated load (average of 15 tests), a pound above the required 300 lb. [Pg.281]

The technique has been used successfully in the analysis of organic compounds, biomolecules, pharmaceuticals, organometallics, drugs of abuse, explosives, and toxic chemicals on a variety of unusual surfaces, such as concrete, asphalt, human skin, currency, boarding passes, business cards, fruits, vegetables, body fluids, cocktail glasses, and clothing. [Pg.57]

Plate 21 Heat- and water-resistant wood-veneered chipboard panels are produced from board which has been coated on both sides by adhesive applied by this machine. After being coated the board passes on knife-edge rollers to the next station where it is hot-pressed at 100°C to cure the adhesive. The knife-edge rollers are continuously washed in their water bath in order to ensure that they are kept clean. Material PLYLOCK 3500 two-component emulsion adhesive manufactured by National Adhesives Resins Ltd. [Pg.68]

After all the control boards pass individual tests, they will be tested together. Problems such as miscommunication and bugs can be fixed in this process. [Pg.191]

After the fluxing step, the drcuit board passes through the preheat stage, which is comprised of a set of radiant heaters. As the circuit board is heated, this step evaporates volatiles from the flux coating (which if not adeqnately removed can lead to voids and blow holes) and activates the chemical reactions between the flnx and oxides on the component lead or termination and the circuit board conductor. [Pg.916]

Dashed lines indicate areas in the pallet that were cut out to expose the bottom side of the board to the wave, (d) A masked board passing over the solder wave, showing open and shielded areas. [Pg.1108]
