Blenders, cost

If a well proves productive, the ensuing completion operation may require an area in excess of the drilling area. This may mean allocations for frac tank placement, blenders, pump trucks, bulk trucks and nitrogen trucks. In today s economic climate, the operator should weigh the probability of success, Bayes theorem (Equation 4-373), with the cost of constructing and reclaiming an additional area needed for stimulation (Equation 4-374). Plans such as these... 

One way to estimate prices of items when they cannot be found is to compare them with other items that might be similar or to items that might be expected to cost about the same. To be conservative for the cutter, it was assumed that a blender would cost at least as much and probably more. Its price was equated to that of a similar size blender ( 5,000). In place of an anchor-type agitator, the costs for a propeller-type agitator was used. Similarly, it was assumed that an epoxy-lined tank would cost the same as a rubber-lined tank. 

Control feeding devices to the hopper of primary equipment (injection molding, extrusion, etc.) is important to provide products that meet performance requirements at the lowest cost. Equipment manufacturers have increased the feeding accuracy using different devices such as microprocessor blender/mixer controllers. Also materials are being reduced in size with more uniformity to significantly improve uniformity in melt. Processors can use blenders and other devices mounted on hoppers that target for precise and even distribution of materials.

Although the capital cost of a new blender (if required) must always be justified, once one realizes the financial implications of having a blender that does not perform adequately, total cost becomes a better means of comparison. Therefore, capital cost should only be considered in comparing two identical blenders.
