Stimulates gastric emptying and intestinal transit of barium in cases where delayed emptying interferes with radiological examination of the stomach or small intestine. The absorption of normal doses of regular aspirin from the GI tract is generally rapid, with peak serum concentration achieved within 2 hours. This peak value may be delayed for 12 hours or longer for enteric-coated or slow-release formulations.
