Verification of the specific technologies of the materials used for a strengthening operation should first distinguish between pultruded laminates produced in a plant and those produced on site. 

The pultruded GFRP material investigated in [21] was produced by Fiberline Denmark and composed of E-glass fibers embedded in an isophthalic polyester resin (fiber weight fraction 57.6%). Two specimens were prepared as 100 mm square plates with 6 mm thickness. Only the through-thickness thermal conductivity was measured. Short-beam shear strength n. Shear strength of reinforced-plastics materials as measured in three-point bending of a specimen whose length between end supports is about five times the specimen depth. ASTM D 2344 describes one such test for flat specimens and short arcs cut from relatively large rings, while ASTM D 4475 describes a similar test for pultruded round rod.

Vinylester resins were developed from the other two resins to combine the improved properties of epoxy with the easier processing of polyester. As a consequence the cost of vinylester resins is a compromise between that of the epoxy and polyester resins. When improved durability is sought for FRP materials, vinylester may be preferred to polyester and today the former resins are used to make most of the conmiercially available FRP pultruded bars (Bank, 2006). Several FRP profiles are also available in vinylester resin.
