Barium phosphates

C8H12N308P)2Ba2-8.5 H20 Cytidine 5 -(barium phosphate), 8.5 hydrate (BCYTMP10)188... [Pg.313]

Ans. (a) Barium phosphate and (b) cobalt(III) sulfate. We recognize that cobalt has a 3+ charge because two cobalt ions are needed to balance three sulfate ions, each of which has a 2- charge. [Pg.109]

Barium hydroxide decomposes to barium oxide when heated to 800°C. Reaction with carbon dioxide gives barium carbonate. Its aqueous solution, being highly alkahne, undergoes neutrahzation reactions with acids. Thus, it forms barium sulfate and barium phosphate with sulfuric and phosphoric acids, respectively. Reaction with hydrogen sulfide produces barium sulfide. Precipitation of many insoluble, or less soluble barium salts, may result from double decomposition reaction when Ba(OH)2 aqueous solution is mixed with many solutions of other metal salts. [Pg.87]

The most important phosphate-containing pigments are zinc phosphate [5.67]-[5.69], [5.71] basic zinc phosphate [5.70], [5.71] chromium phosphate [5.72] aluminum triphosphate [5.73] barium phosphate [5.53] aluminum zinc phosphate [5.68] and zinc/iron phosphate [5.71], Phosphate ions form protective coatings of basic iron(III) phosphate on an iron surface. Their composition is described in [5.64]. [Pg.193]

B. Laporte treated sodium phosphate with barium sulphide, etc. 3BaS+2NaOH +2 N a2HP0,1—B as P 04) 2 -J-3Na2 S -f-2 H2 0 and the washed barium phosphate is treated with sulphuric acid, etc. [Pg.950]

Complete and balance the following equations that occur in aqueous solution (water is the solvent). [Note Barium phosphate, Ba3(P04)2, is very insoluble tin is a more active metal than silver.]... [Pg.47]

Phosphoric acid is more advantageous than sulphuric acid for the decomposition of barium peroxide. When it is used it is possible to obtain a solution with 10 to 16 per cent of H2Oa, because contrary to sulphuric acid even a considerably concentrated phosphoric acid ensures the satisfactory decomposition of barium peroxide. The barium phosphate Ba3(P04)2 formed in the process, which is easy to filter, also removes other impurities (Fe, Mn, A1 etc.) if they had been converted during the final stage of the process to a less soluble form by careful neutralization of the acid solution by barium hydroxide or carbonate. The precipitate of Ba3(P04)2, which contains also impurities, is filtered off. The hydrogen peroxide solution obtained is fairly stable because a small amount of phosphoric acid is present. [Pg.388]

The waste barium phosphate is dissolved in phosphoric acid to barium dihydrogen phosphate ... [Pg.388]

Barium chloride solution white, amorphous precipitate of secondary barium phosphate, BaHP04, from neutral solutions, soluble in dilute mineral acids and in acetic acid. In the presence of dilute ammonia solution, the less soluble tertiary phosphate, Ba3(P04)2, is precipitated. [Pg.355]

Strontium phosphate partly with barium phosphate [5.83]... [Pg.216]

Recently, there has been reference in the literature has to further phosphate-based pigments, such as barium phosphate, manganese phosphate, lead phosphate, and chromium phosphate. Utilization of such products has been limited, due to economical aspects [5.71]. [Pg.219]
