Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi) is a very significant plant of Ayurved. The inoculation studies were carried out at the Surjeevan Farma. The plants were inoculated with the mycorrhiza inoculum by putting 1.5 g of the inoculum 2 deep round the root zone during the 1st week of July and allowed to grow for three months. [Pg.109]

As a general rule, Bacopa monnieri is brahmi in Kerala and mandukaparni in north and west India, whereas Centella asiat-ica is called brahmi in north and west India and mandukaparni in Kerala (south India) (McGuffin et al. 2000). [Pg.123]

Bacosides are well known for their neuropharmacological effects. Most of the studies on the pharmacological properties were made with the alcoholic extract of whole plant of Bacopa monnieri which chiefly constituted of bacosides A and B [1]. [Pg.3643]

Scopolamine is frequently used as anmesic agent. But being a synthetic drug, it has some undesirable effects. Oral dose (at 120 mg kg ) of ethanolic extract of Bacopa monnieri inverted scopolamine (0.5 mg kg i.p.)-induced adverse effects. The ethanolic extract also stopped scopolamine (0.5 mg kg i.p.)-induced retrograde amnesia [56]. [Pg.3657]
