Omeprazole Bacampicillin

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with acitretin, aldesleukin, aminoglycosides, amiodarone, amoxicillin, ampicillin, aspirin, bacampicillin, bismuth, carbenicillin, chloroquine, cisplatin, cloxacillin, co-trimoxazole, dapsone, demeclocycline, dexamethasone, diclofenac, dicloxacillin, etodolac, etoricoxib, etretinate, fenoprofen, flurbiprofen, folic acid antagonists, haloperidol, hydrocortisone, ibuprofen, indomethacin, influenza vaccines, ketoprofen, ketorolac, lithium, magnesium trisalicylate, meclofenamate, mefenamic acid, methicillin, mezlocillin, minocycline, nabumetone, nafcillin, naproxen, NSAIDs, omeprazole, oxacillin, oxaprozin, oxytetracycline, paromomycin, penicillin G, penicillin V, penicillins, phenylbutazone, piperacillin, piroxicam, polypeptide antibiotics, prednisolone, prednisone, probenecid, procarbazine, rofecoxib, salicylates, salsalate, sapropterin, sulfadiazine, sulfamethoxazole, sulfapyridine, sulfasalazine, sulfisoxazole, sulindac, tazobactum, tenoxicam, tetracycline, ticarcillin, tolmetin, trimethoprim, vaccines... 

Esomeprazole, lansoprazole and omeprazole do not alter the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin, and omeprazole does not alter bacampicillin bioavailability. Isolated reports describe glossitis, stomatitis and/or black tongue in a small number of patients when treated with lansoprazole and antibacterials, which included amoxicillin, clarithromycin and metronidazole. 

In other studies omeprazole caused a few small changes in the pharmacokinetics of bacampicillin and amoxicillin, but their bioavailabilities were not reduced, " and the use of amoxicillin with omeprazole had a synergistic effect on Helicobacter pylori eradication. Similarly, in another study, omeprazole 40 mg twice daily for 5 days did not affect the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin 750 mg twice daily for 5 days, although the mean serum concentration of omeprazole was 12% lower and intragastric pH was slightly lower with the combination than with omeprazole alone. This was felt to be partly due to suppression of77. pylori ...
