The student will doubtless be aware of the fact that methyl, ethyl, n-propyl and iso propyl alcohols are completely miscible with water. The solubilities of the higher aloohols decrease progressively as the carbon content increases. The solubilities of all types of alcohols with five carbon atoms or more are quite small. For the isomeric butyl alcohols the solubilities (g. per 100 g. of water at 20°) are n-butyl, 8 iso-butyl, 23 scc.-butyl, 13 ierl.-butyl, completely miscible.

This manual would include the company s policy statement, company rules, safe working procedures, etc., and would normally be located in a nominated office. It is necessary in using this method that all staff are made aware of its contents and its location. 

On many occasions the file has provided Information about effects of drugs of which the user was previously unaware. Undoubtedly this has helped the care of some patients. We are aware of several cases In which prolonged workups of unusual test values were avoided because of the simple explanations provided by the file. We expect to expand the application of the file by Introducing It In a revised form Into several hospitals for online Interpretation of data. Also, discussions have been held with several different Institutions overseas to set up national centers for dissemination of Information and to provide a better monitoring of foreign language publications to augment the content of the file. 

The idea, to a certain extent opposite to above one, deals with an option to control the content of ambient gas atmosphere analyzing the changes in its electrophysical properties. This idea, as far as we are aware, was initially and practically simultaneously put forward by Heiland [82] and Myasnikov [83]. It is this idea which provide the basis for presently widely spread method of semiconductor sensors.

There is a large number of available guidelines. These cover a very wide range of topics, and the company submitting an application for a pharmaceutical product should be aware of the contents of these documents and how they interact with other guidelines as well as the interpretation of the legislative requirements. It is necessary to be aware of the impact of guidelines in all areas within the pharmaceutical sector and, in some cases, within the medical device sector. Some of these effects are not obvious from the titles of the documents. 

Readers may also be aware that under the auspices of the ICH a document is being developed on the organization of the Common Technical Document. It is intended that this will result in a common format (and, to at least some extent, content) of marketing authorization applications in the jurisdictions of those party to the ICH process (Japan, the EEA, and the United States). At the time of writing, a draft document had been circulated for comment. When adopted and implemented, this will result in a considerable amendment to the format and sequencing of information in a marketing authorization application. 

It is expected that due to legislation and increased customer awareness of the content of chemicals in leather, an increased focus will develop on the use of chemicals in the leather industry, especially regarding to the content of eventually hazardous chemicals in the leather product. 

In the z-direction (depth-direction) the resolution is determined by the confocal instrument settings. The increased importance of renewable resources for raw materials and recyclability or biodegradability of the material at the end of its useful life is demanding a shift from petroleum-based synthetics to agro-based materials in industrial applications. Increased social awareness of environmental problems posed by the non-degradable, non-recyclable content of their products is forcing manufacturers to enhance the biodegradable content, which in turn favors a switch to biomaterials [1]. 

A mixture of hydrogen and chlorine gas, eventually in combination with air, can be very explosive if one of the components exceeds certain limits. In chlorine production plants, based on the electrolysis of sodium chloride solutions, there is always a production of hydrogen. It is, therefore, essential to be aware of the actual hydrogen content of chlorine gas process streams at any time. There are several places in the chlorine production process where the hydrogen content in the chlorine gas can accumulate above the explosion limits. Within the chloralkali industry, mainly two types of processes are used for the production of chlorine—the mercury- and the membrane-based electrolysis of sodium chloride solutions (brine).
