Atmospheric perspective

We have been examining line as a way to define space and describe emotion. There is an additional function that line can serve in artistic expression—allowing the artist to represent the third dimension on a flat surface. Depth on a flat surface can be achieved through the use of two systems, atmospheric perspective and linear perspective.

From the perspective of laboratory practice, the sensitivity of many indoles to acids, oxygen and light prescribes the use of an inert atmosphere for most reactions involving indoles and the avoidance of storage with exposure to light. This sensitivity is greatly attenuated by electron-withdrawing (EW) substituents. 

Ammonia (NHj) is produced from atmospheric nitrogen and hydrogen from a hydrocarbon source. Natural gas is the most commonly used hydrocarbon feedstock for new plants other feedstocks that have been used include naphtha, oil, and gasified coal. Natural gas is favored over the other feedstocks from an environmental perspective. 

This treatment of the carbon cycle is intended to give an account of the fundamental aspects of the carbon cycle from a global perspective. After a presentation of the main characteristics of carbon on Earth (Section 11.2), four sections follow 11.3, about the carbon reservoirs within the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the biosphere...
