ENEMIES. The most important enemy of the apple rust mite is the predatory mite. But whereas control of red spider mite is achieved very quickly with the predatory mite, in the case of the apple rust mite it often takes 1-2 years longer to reach a stable situation. [Pg.141]

Spraying with sulphur from the mouse-ear/greenbud stage onwards has a good suppressive effect on the apple rust mite. Spraying with sulphur is less effective once infestation is very severe, however. [Pg.141]

Pyrimidinamine insecticides contain a pyrimidine and an amine group. Pyrimidifen is an insecticide/acaricide for control of spider and rust mites in apples, pears, vegetables, tea, and citrus. Its oral LD in rats is 148 mg/kg. [Pg.74]

Protection Offered Sulfur can be purchased alone or mixed with other insecticides and inorganic fungicides to control a wide variety of garden pests. Use sulfur as an insecticide to control insects and mites on fruit trees and citrus. You can also use sulfur as a protectant fungicide. It is effective against apple scab, brown rot of stone fruits, powdery mildews, rose black spot, rusts, and other plant diseases on many crops, including grapes, potatoes strawberries, and tomatoes. [Pg.485]

Triphenyltin hydroxide (Fentin) and triphenyltin acetate (Brestan) are used to combat potato blight, leaf spot on celery and sugar beet, rice blast, and coffee leaf rust. Tricyclo-hexyltin hydroxide (Plictran), bis(trineophyltin) oxide (Vendex or Torque), and 1-tricyclohexylstannyl-l,2,4-triazole (Peropal) have also been used for the contol of mites on apples, pears, and citrus fruits. [Pg.387]
