Andersen Windows, which dominates the use of wood-filled PVC for window and door lineals, uses the waste PVC generated intheir cladding operations as a polymer base for their composites, typically formulated from 60% PVC and 40% wood. [Pg.766]

There are a variety of WPC products in the market These commerdal products could originate from virgin or recycled polymers and virgin or reclaimed wood. This systan, called Window of Knowledge, allows distributors and customers to design windows to custom-fit their needs. Users can select from a library of more than 50,000 components that can be combined in any number of ways. The system immediately gives the customer price quotes and automatically sends the order to the factory if the customer decides to buy. This information investment not only gives the customer a much wider variety of products, but also allows Andersen to be much more responsive to the customer, as it gets the customer s order to the factory as soon as the order is placed. [Pg.54]

Such products are sold by, among others, Andersen Window, Certain Teed, Compos-A-Tron, Crane Plastics, Lida Plastics of Japan, Marley Mouldings, Profile Solutions, Royal, Tri-Ex Composites, and Youngstown Plastics.
