Ammonia diluted

Like synthetic diamond, C-BN is normally obtained by high-pressure processing. Efforts to synthesize it by CVD at low pressure are promising. It is deposited in an electron-cyclotron-resonance (ECR) plasma from a mixture of BF3 and either ammonia or nitrogen at 675°C on an experimental basis.F l Like CVD diamond, it is also deposited by the hot-filament method using diborane and ammonia diluted with hydrogen at 800°C.P 1... [Pg.275]

G. E. Foxwell studied the thermal decomposition of ammonia diluted with coal-gas in silica tubes packed with porous materials like coke or firebrick, and at temp, between 520° and 850°. [Pg.155]

Solution A Pipet 2.0 mL of Standard Lead Solution (20 pig of Pb) into a 50-mL color-comparison tube, and add water to make 25 mL. Adjust the pH to between 3.0 and 4.0 (using short-range pH indicator paper) by adding 1 N acetic acid or 6 N ammonia, dilute to 40 mL with water, and mix. [Pg.358]

Ammonium sulphate is a salt readily available on a commercial scale. Ammonium acetate, however, is very deliquescent and is more often prepared, as required, in the following manner. The necessary amount of acetic acid is well diluted with water in a bucket or other suitable vessel. Ammonia, diluted with its own volume of water, is then poured into the acid slowly with constant stirring until litmus or any other indicator just gives an alkaline reaction. The solution of ammonium acetate, prepared in this manner, is added directly to the dyebath. [Pg.392]

Interestingly, the major source reaction of N in these ammonia diluted methane-air flames is again reaction R3. The H shuffle reactions form a fast pathway from NH3 to N atoms. The extended Zeldovitch reactions R3, R4, and R5 then determine the NO and N2 production. This behavior is in marked contrast to the pure ammonia flame pathways (Figure 4) where NH2 and NH were significant N2 soucrces, and HNO was the major precursor of NO. [Pg.97]

C7H8N4O2, Mr 180.17, thin, bitter-tasting platelets, mp. 270-274 °C (monohydrate), moderately soluble in water, very soluble in hot water, alkali hydroxides, ammonia, dilute acids. A purine alkaloid from the leaves of the tea plant, also contained in matd (Ilex paragua-riensis and Paullinia cupana). The methylxanthines T., caffein(e), and theobromine are among the oldest known stimulants and drugs. Their pharmacological properties are compared in the table. In high doses T. can cause epilepsy-like convulsions. T. also exhibits antiasthmatic activity. ... [Pg.647]

Sodium dissolves in liquid ammonia. Dilute solutions are blue, concentrated ones are bronze-coloured. The solutions conduct electricity. The other alkali metals and the alkaline earth metals also dissolve in liquid ammonia, giving solutions of the same colour. [Pg.122]

Interestingly, we found that household ammonia (diluted ammonia water solution) precipitates OPA effectively and instantly from its water solution at room temperature. However, the product mixture is toxic to fish and is not an ideal neutralization method for hospital users since qualified personnel and a filtration procedure (to remove toxic precipitate) are required. In some situations, this process may be acceptable. [Pg.88]
