The thermal properties of anodized aluminum have also been studied. One of the typical studies was published in the work with Mansfeld [39]. A lot of studied have been carried out at Lam through the years [39, 73-82]. AU these studies show that anodized aluminum film can be degraded through the use at a relatively high temperature. Both perous layer and barrier layer can be impeded depending on the operation temperature. Radii before anodizing on aluminum parts have to be controlled and the micro-cracks at corners and edges depend on the type of anodized aluminum and final thickness of anodic layer. [Pg.23]

Alumina particles are one of the commonly used fillers for improving the thermal conductivity of adhesives in particular insulation adhesives. Aluminum and silver powders or flakes are used to improve the thermal and electrical conductivities for adhesives intended to be an electrical or thermal path. The filler volume content level is very important to get sufficient conductivity. However, excessive filler content might cause degradation in mechanical properties of the adhesives (Kahraman and Al-Harthi 2005 Kahraman et al. 2008). [Pg.300]
