Alcohol acetaminophen interaction with

Drug interactions with tizanidine hydrochloride include acetaminophen, alcohol, and oral contraceptives. 

Acetaminophen can interact with other drugs, both in good and bad ways. For example, hospitals often combine acetaminophen with the narcotic pain reliever codeine (CoTylenol ) to treat more severe pain. Caffeine can increase the effectiveness of acetaminophen similarly to the way it does with aspirin. Brand names that use a combination of aspirin, caffeine, and acetaminophen include Excedrin and Vanquish . Combining these ingredients for their additive effects also reduces the dose needed for each one and thereby reduces the risk of side effects. However, there are a few drugs that should not be mixed with acetaminophen. These include anticonvulsants and alcohol, both of which increase the risk of liver damage. 

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with acarbose, acetaminophen, alcohol, anticholinergic agents, atropine, miglitol... 

A special mention of interaction of acetaminophen with alcohol consumption is warranted. Large numbers of reports in scientific literature and public media suggest that a potentially high risk of liver toxicity due to acetaminophen exists when consumed following alcohol intake. In a recent review, however. Dr. Barry Rumack suggests that only chronic heavy drinkers may be at greater risk following an overdose of acetaminophen and that no potentiation of toxicity occurs at therapeutic doses. 

The sedative effects of tizanidine and other sedative drugs and alcohol are additive. Increased bradycardia might occur with dig-oxin. It is unclear whether tizanidine prolongs the QT interval in humans. No interaction occurs with paracetamol (acetaminophen).
