Administrative programs Response

Each of the EPA s Offices is responsible for specialized areas involved with the protection of the environment and human health. The Office of the Administrator provides executive and logistical support for the EPA Administrator and the staff offices that directly support the Administrator. The Administrator is responsible to the President, and is assisted by the Deputy Administrator and staff offices. The Office of the Administrator supports the leadership of EPA s programs and activities to protect human health and safeguard the air, water, and land upon which life depends. 

In contrast to this more integrated approach, some companies have elected to develop and administer a special survey focused solely on D I issues. Although this results in more data (because the survey is entirely D I-related), our recommendation is to ultimately fully integrate that content into the core employee survey programs so that the D I agenda does not appear to stand on its own. This also makes it more likely that the D I content will be sustainable this is less likely when there two separate survey efforts must be managed over time (which can increase administration and response burden). 

Demand is a function primarily of investors views of a country s economic prospects. A primary responsibility of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the enforcement of the Federal Food, Dmg, and Cosmetic Act of 1938 and its various amendments, eg. May, 1976, in which dental materials, instmments, and equipment are included. Premarketing clearance requirements apply for estabhshing the safety and effectiveness of new products. There is a close Haison between the FDA and the ADA standards and certification programs. 

Administratively, the genesis of these Laboratories, which initially were called Interdisciplinary Research Laboratories and later. Materials Research Laboratories, involved many complications, most of them in Washington, not least when in 1972 responsibility for them was successfully transferred to the National Science Foundation (NSF). As Sproull cynically remarks To those unfamiliar with the workings of federal government (and especially Capitol Hill), transfer of a program sounds simple, but it is simple only if the purpose of transfer is to kill the program . 

Given that multiple contractor and subcontractor organizations could be involved in work activities, senior management should address any misunderstandings concerning specific operational responsibilities and accountabilities that could cause problems in the administration of site-specific programs. 

The toxicological profiles are developed in response to the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986 (Public Law 99-499) which amended the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA or Superfund). Section 211 of SARA also amended Title 10 of the U. S. Code, creating the Defense Environmental Restoration Program. Section 2704(a) of Title 10 of the U. S. Code directs the Secretary of Defense to notify the Secretary of Health and Human Services of not less than 25 of the most commonly found unregulated hazardous substances at defense facilities. Section 2704(b) of Title 10 of the U. S. Code directs the Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) to prepare a toxicological profile for each substance on the list provided by the Secretary of Defense under subsection (b).
