Acid value omega-9 oils

Evaluation of potentially useful antimanic agents continues. Studies are in progress to determine whether other novel antipsychotics and anticonvulsants are effective. Omega-3 fatty acids, contained in large amounts in certain fish oils, have been reported in several publications as effective agents as well. Further research on these compounds is needed before determining their true value in antimanic therapy. 

Supercritical extraction has been applied on an industrial scale in the fractionation of high added value compounds, such as esters of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants such as tocopherol and tocotrienols, fat-soluble vitamins (A and E), scalene, pigments such as carotenoids it has also been applied to obtain essential aromas and citrus oils, and it has other special applications such as in the production of decaffeinated coffee, teas, beers, and Nonalcoholic wines, in the improvement of flavor of juices and beverages, in the production of meat and fat-free fries, in the preparation and encapsulation of spices, purification and others (Brunner, 2005). 

F. contains a lai ge amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids (up to 6 double bonds) called PUFA, > ch are of high nutritional and dietetic value (- fats and oils/essential fatty acids). Especially the so-called (omega) co-3 and (0-6 fatty acids (examples - fatty acids marked with an in the list there) influence the formation of - prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leucotrienes that lead to decreased aggregability of platelets in the bloodstream and enhance the vasodilatory effects of prostaglandin.
