Academic degree research experience

Fifteen years later, many clinical pharmacists have served and continue to serve as Pis in human trials. An interview seminar, which often proves pivotal in the hiring decision, will probably be requested for those having previous published research, whether academic or industrial. This may not apply in cases where scientists with B.S. degrees interview for entry-level positions or for those with industry experience in more applied fields like formulations or analytical method development where research publications are few and almost everything they ve done is proprietary. The candidate should keep in mind that not only will the contents of the seminar matter, but the way it s presented and how questions are handled can be equally important. 

The path to academic research starts with a doctoral degree. It is possible to get some industrial experience on the way, or immediately after getting your doctoral degree. Qinmin Pan received her Ph.D degree from Zhejiang University and became an assistant Professor of Zhejiang University in the same year, where she became a full Professor in 1995. She had academic experience in INSA de Rouen and at the University of Waterloo for a number of years. She currently holds Chair Professor position and serves as Director of the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology and Vice-Director (Executive) of Green Polymer and Catalysis Laboratory of Soochow University, and also an Adjunct Professor of the University of Waterloo.
