Absorption monitors

Phthalate dioxygenase (PDO) Conflicting values have been quoted [—60 mV at pH 6.9 in an absorption monitored titration performed at 10°C Kuila and Fee (129) —120 mV at pH 7.0 Correll etal. (229)] but experimental details have not been reported. [Pg.137]

The basic features of an epr spectrometer are shown in Figure 2.95. The microwave source is a Klystron tube that emits radiation of frequency determined by the voltage across the tube. Magnetic fields of 0.1 — 1 T can be routinely obtained without complicated equipment and are generated by an electromagnet. The field is usually modulated at a frequency of 100kHz and the corresponding in-phase component of the absorption monitored via a phase-sensitive lock-in detector. This minimises noise and enhances the sensitivity of the technique. It is responsible for the distinctive derivative nature of epr spectra. Thus, the spectrum is obtained as a plot of dA/dB vs. [Pg.191]

Flunisolide - Because of the possibility of higher systemic absorption, monitor patients using flunisolide for any evidence of systemic corticosteroid effect. If such changes occur, discontinue slowly, consistent with accepted procedures for discontinuing oral corticosteroids. When flunisolide is used chronically at 2 mg/day, monitor patients periodically for effects on the HPA axis. [Pg.754]

Radiation absorption monitoring of the column effluent at an appropriate wavelength provides the most versatile means of detection for the fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamins A, D, E, and K exhibit characteristic absorption spectra in the UV region, whereas the carotenoid pigments absorb light in the visible region. [Pg.352]

In a few cases, small optical infrared absorption monitors have been integrated into electronic nose sensors [11], mostly for detection of the carbon dioxide evolution from cells. The 3000-4000 nm filters are normally used. [Pg.68]

The population and reorientational dynamics are not indicated in the figure, but may be also derived from the pump-probe measurements. The population lifetime Ti in the first excited level can be inferred from the excited state absorption monitoring (lie v = I v = 2 transition. The molecular reorientation becomes experimentally accessible, introducing polarization resolution in the probing step. For known structural and population dynamics the temporal evolution of the width of the observed spectral hole also provides information on the dephasing time T2 of the vibrational transition (63). [Pg.47]

An on-stream atomic absorption method for the determination of zinc and manganese in flotation liquors containing calcium sulphate has been reported [27]. The nebuliser to an air/acetylene flame was continuously fed, by gravity, with a portion of the process stream buffered with EDTA to overcome calcium sulphate interference. The atomic absorption monitor operated continuously for 3h before salting-up of the burner occurred. [Pg.406]

Under appropriately controlled conditions the first-order constant for the loss of DPBF absorption, monitored at 415 nm, is given by Eq. (10). Plots of k versus [DPBF] in the absence of Q yield kd (t ) and fcr plots of k versus [Q] at constant [DPBF] yield kq [26-29]. [Pg.221]

Two commercially available pH-sensitive fluorescent probes were used to monitor the photooxidation of the UV-cured polyurethane-acrylate adhesive L350 Oregon Green (OG) and />-dimethylaminosalicylic acid (p-DASA). During the period of UV-exposure, the photostability of these fluorescent compounds was assessed by UV-absorption monitoring and the fluorescence emission was measured at several... [Pg.115]

A full picture of the PFR of phenyl acetate has recently been obtained by UV-vis and IR transient spectroscopy in the (sub)picosecond range (Fig. 31.2). The combination of the two techniques provides accurate data of the involved ultrafast processes. The singlet lifetime is 28 ps, both from the decay of its Sj->S absorption, monitored at 524nm, and its vibration at 1807cm h The phenoxyl... [Pg.892]

Recent Innovations in fraction collecting systems have led to production of fraction collectors which are connected to the monitor in a way that the signal for the fraction collector is derived from the monitor signal. Thus, if the desired component to be separated is a protein, and an ultraviolet absorption monitor is being used, the absorption at 280 nm by the effluent, which is produced by proteins, will signal the fraction collector. The fraction collector will now place an empty vessel below the column outlet. The whole effluent, till the absorption signal persists, will be collected in a single vessel. [Pg.363]
