A Risk Assessment Tool for Public Transportation

Security - a growing concern for Public Transport operators 

Given the escalation in violent activities throughout the world, security in Public Transport (PT) is a salient topic for both EU decision makers and sector representatives. Given the fact that many of the 500 million EU citizens use public transport services daily, secnrity also becomes a matter of perception. 

In order to enhance the secnrity levels, the most obvious step undertaken by the Public Transport Operators (PTOs) and local/national authorities is to increase the spending in security-related technologies, with CCTV being the preferred choice, and manpower. These investments are not cheap - security technologies, more security staff and the necessary training required in either cases - but are necessary
