Zinc compounds carbonylation

In addition to their use as precursors for alkynylboron, tin or zinc compounds, alkynylmagnesium reagents show a moderate reactivity toward the coupling with haloarenes and haloalkenes. They are often commercially available, or easy to prepare. Their main drawback is their low chemoselectivity and high nucleophilicity, which implies incompatibilities with functional groups such as nitro and carbonyl. [Pg.18]

Support-bound transition metal complexes have mainly been prepared as insoluble catalysts. Table 4.1 lists representative examples of such polymer-bound complexes. Polystyrene-bound molybdenum carbonyl complexes have been prepared for the study of ligand substitution reactions and oxidative eliminations [51], Moreover, well-defined molybdenum, rhodium, and iridium phosphine complexes have been prepared on copolymers of PEG and silica [52]. Many other electrophiles are able to react with metalated ferrocenylalkyl amines, e.g., trimethyl borate (Fig. 4-27 a), which gives, after hydrolytic workup, compounds like (S,S)-l-(iV,iV-dimethyl-l-aminoethyl)ferrocene-2-boronic acid [106]. Important intermediates for further derivatization are the halogens. Finally, carbohydrate ligands of enantioselective catalysts have been described for a limited number of reactions. Bis-phosphites of carbohydrates have been reported as ligands of efficient catalysts in enantioselective hydrogenations [182] and hydrocyanations [183], and a bifunctional dihydroglucal-based catalyst was recently found to effect asymmetric cyanosilylations of ketones [184]. Carbohydrate-derived titanocenes have been used in the enantioselective catalysis of reactions of diethyl zinc with carbonyl compounds [113]. Oxazolinones of amino sugars have been shown to be efficient catalysts in enantioselective palladium(0)-catalyzed allylation reactions of C-nucleophiles [185]. [Pg.494]
