[Pg.352]

Figure 16.18. Histological analysis of tissue (a) control normal healthy tissue (b) surroimding titanium implant (c) surrounding nanotubular implant results indicate no fibrous scar tissue formation for both titanium and nanotubular implant and the tissues are very similar to the control tissue, dotted line shows where the implant was present, 10 X images. For the Haiti case, pre-seismic and post-seismic images from both TerraSAR-X and COSMO-SkyMed satellites were available. The TerraSAR-X images are dated October 13, 2009, and January 20, 2010, while the COSMO-SkyMed pair was acquired on April 26, 2009, and January 15, 2010. The two datasets are on descending orbit, in strip-map mode at 3 m resolution (Dekker 2011). [Pg.635]

Three-temporal TerraSAR-X images taken before and after the earthquake are shown in Fig. 9. The pre-event image was taken on 21 October 2010 (local time) while the post-event ones were taken on 13 March 2011 (2 days after the... [Pg.3854]

It is known that large crustal movements (coseismic and post-seismic displacements) occurred in this area due to the Mw 9.0 event (Ozawa et al. 2011). The shift when the postevent TerraSAR-X images were taken compared with the pre-event one was estimated 3.11 m to the east and 0.55 m to the south in the Sendai area (Liu and Yamazaki 2013). Thus, the pre-event SAR image was manually shifted 2 pixels (2.5 m) to the east in order to match with the post-event SAR images. [Pg.3855]
