WRITE Program with Industry

The WRITE Program has three sub-programs the WRITE Pilot Program with State and Local Governments, the WRITE Program with Industry and the WRITE Research Program. [Pg.170]

Richard Haswell s collection Beyond Outcomes Assessment and Instruction within a University Writing Program (2001) is also rich with calls for healthful alternatives to industrial and commercial writing assessment ... [Pg.3]

We begin with a fairly simple process consisting of a reactor, condenser, separator, compressor, and stripper with a gas recycle stream (Fig. 8.1). This process was developed and published by Downs and Vogel (1993) as an industrial plantwide control test problem. A FORTRAN program is available from them that does the derivative evaluations for the process. The user must write a main program that initializes the simulation, does the controller calculations, performs the numerical integration, and plots the results. [Pg.251]

The term applies to many types of endeavors. Some entail intellectual work e.g., writing a book, doing some specific R D work, developing a computer program. Others deal with physical work buildings, roads, industrial plants, etc. [Pg.5]

With the development of new programs, combined with feedback from regulators and greater experience in the industry, it is likely that population analysis will be used increasingly in the future. At the time of writing I see the main utility of population analysis (including population dynamics) to be as follows. [Pg.242]

Table 6.3 summarizes the evolution of the computer hardware typically employed in automated x-ray spectrometers. The movement proceeded from punch cards to paper tape (1968), then to tape cassette (1970), to floppy disk (1972), to Phoenix hard drive (1974), to Winchester disk technology (1975), to the personal computer (1980), and finally arrived at the implementation of the CD-ROM (1987). Not insignificant in this development cycle is the impact on the software. In the days of 4K minicomputers supported by paper tape all programs were written in assembler language. With the industry rate of one instruction per hour for a good programmer, a 4K program took the best part of two years to write. Needless to... [Pg.245]
